Nia Castelly of New Rochelle was selected by Zoomnia, a free online service based in Chappaqua, as the “voice of Zoomnia”. Castelly won a contest the company sponsored to select the “voice” of its upcoming radio ads. She is an attorney specializing in intellectual property litigation at Pryor Cashman, LLP, Manhattan.

Bradford Perkins of Scarsdale, founder and chairman of Perkins Eastman, an architecture and design firm, was given the 2007 Distinguished Leadership Award by United Cerebral Palsy of Suffolk.

Westchester Community College was named by Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education magazine as one of the “Publisher’s Picks” as an institution doing a “commendable job of recruiting, retaining, educating, and graduating Hispanic students.”

Second Wind Advisory Group, Inc., South Salem, a professional consulting firm that specializes in sales and sales management training, announced it has received the “Rising Star” international award by the Sandler Sales Institute. The firm was the only winner of the award in the tri-state area.

Phelps Memorial Hospital Center, Sleepy Hollow, was recently designated as a Stroke Center by the New York State Department of Health. The Phelps Stroke Center designation signifies that Phelps has specialized staff members who have undergone extensive training. Phelps’ stroke team represents a variety of medical and surgical disciplines.

Lexington Center for Recovery (LCR), Mt. Kisco, one of the leading providers of alcohol and substance abuse treatment in the Hudson Valley, was chosen by the Rockland County Department of Mental Health to provide chemical dependency services in two Rockland County locations: Airmont and in Haverstraw.

 


Newsmakers

Diane Farah of Scarsdale was appointed sales counselor for Classic Residence by Hyatt, senior living for older adults, Yonkers. Prior to that, she was director of sales and marketing for Royal Regency Hotel, Yonkers, since 2003. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and education from Iona College.

Grace Ferri of New Rochelle was hired as the director of development for the United Hebrew Geriatric Center (UHGC), a senior living campus in New Rochelle. Prior to joining UHGC, Grace was director of annual giving and special events at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx.

Grand Prix New York Racing, LLC (GPNY), an indoor corporate event and recreational racing facility, Mount Kisco, announced the appointment of the following sales associates.

Kimberly Herman of Mahopac was most recently race series coordinator at the Skip Barber Racing School in Lakeville, Conn. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Quinnipiac University.

Brian Hyland of Pine Bush was most recently vice president of the Home Funding Group, LLC. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Quinnipiac University.

David O’Hara of Northfield, Conn. was most recently account manager of corporate sales at the Skip Barber Racing School in Lakeville, Conn. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from the University of Connecticut at Storrs.

Real Estate Update

Ed Graf and Ted Sannella of Houlihan-Parnes/ iCap Realty Advisors have arranged the acquisition of a multi-family portfolio consisting of 602 apartments. The package consists of 13 locations: Binghamton, Endicott, Endwell, and Johnson City. The amount of sale was for $14,900,000. The buyer was represented in the transaction by Steven Tierney of Woods, Oviatt, Gilman L.P.P. Houlihan-Parnes/iCap Realty Advisors, LLC is a nationally affiliated, multi-faceted real estate investment company headquartered in White Plains.

Ginsburg Development Companies (GDC), Valhalla, announced The Harbors at Haverstraw, a development alongside the Hudson River, was awarded a 2007 Best in American Living Award (BALA) for “Best Community 151 Units and Over” in a contest sponsored by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and Professional Builder magazine.
