Joanne Stoddard of Croton-on-Hudson, a volunteer for the equine program of Green Chimneys, Brewster, a nonprofit organization that provides programs and services for children with emotional, behavioral, social and learning challenges, was named 2007 “Volunteer of the Year” for Region 2 by the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association. Region 2 encompasses Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.

 

Pace University, White Plains, and the Westchester Not-for-Profit Technology Council, a partnership that supports the effective use of information technologies by Westchester not-for-profit and community organizations, received a $5,000 grant from the Verizon Foundation to continue their project of providing technology information and assistance to Westchester County not-for-profit organizations.

 


Newsmakers

Brian W. Stack of Rye was promoted to managing director of CIE Tours International, a tour operator, based in Morristown, N.J. Stack continues as president of the company, a position he has held since joining the company in 1990.  

 

Randall T. Clark was appointed chief operating officer at Polar Air Cargo Worldwide Inc., Purchase, a provider of air cargo services, and a subsidiary of Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings Inc. Since 2001, Clark worked at DHL Express, based in Plantation, Fla., most recently as   executive vice president of sales, Americas, for its global customer solutions unit, formerly as executive vice president of sales-Americas, previously as senior vice president of sales and marketing and initially as senior vice president of customer relations. Prior to that, he was   COO at Circle International, San Francisco. Clark holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University.

 

Judith Fenster of Nanuet was appointed administrator at Dumont Masonic Home, New Rochelle, a skilled nursing center. Most recently, Fenster was administrator and vice president, inpatient operations at the Metropolitan Jewish Geriatric Center, Brooklyn. From 1988 to 2004, she was associate executive director at Workmen’s Circle MultiCare Center, Bronx. Fenster holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in education from Queens College and a Master of Science  degree in gerontology from The College of New Rochelle. 

 

John D. Sullivan of White Plains was appointed vice president, national commercial manager at Statewide Abstract Corp., White Plains, a title insurance agency. Sullivan will also head up Statewide Abstract’s newly opened office in Manhattan.  He has more than 25 years of experience in the title insurance industry, most recently as vice president of sales at Stewart Title Insurance Co., Manhattan. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Iona College.

 

Brian J. Buttigieg of Bronxville was appointed vice president and general counsel at Valerie Wilson Travel Inc., New York City, a travel consulting agency. Most recently, Buttigieg was general counsel and chief compliance officer at Root Markets Inc. Earlier, he was counsel at Fortune Brands Inc. Buttigieg holds a bachelor’s degree from Haverford College and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Brooklyn Law School.

 

Marcia Earle of Ossining was promoted to a vice president in the White Plains office of HDR, an  architectural and engineering firm. Earle has been  Northeast area marketing manager since January 2007. She joined HDR in July 2006 as national pursuit leader for the East region. Prior to that, she was a director of operations at Parsons Brinckerhoff, New York City. Earle holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in government from Cornell University and a Master of Science degree in information science from the Pratt Institute.

   

Michael Di Sante of Harrison joined Patriot National Bank as vice president and branch manager of its main office in Stamford, Conn. Di Sante has more than 25 years of experience in the banking industry, primarily as a branch and regional manager at The Bank of New York. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from Iona College.

 

The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester, White Plains, a hotel scheduled to open in mid-November, announced the following appointments.

Sierra Shore of New Rochelle joined the hotel as spa director. Most recently, Shore was spa and programs director at El Monte Sagrado, Taos, N.M. Before that, she was front office manager at the Snake River Lodge and Spa, Jackson, Wyo. Earlier, she was a financial analyst at Vail Resorts, Avon, Colo. Shore holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

James R. Dangler of Upper Nyack joined the hotel as executive chef. Dangler has more than 15 years of experience in the food service industry, most recently as chef de cuisine at Roy’s New York, Manhattan.

 

Kristin Dionne of Lagrangeville was appointed fund development associate at Green Chimneys, Brewster, a nonprofit organization that provides programs and services for children with emotional, behavioral, social and learning challenges. Since 1999, Dionne worked at Hartley House, Manhattan, most recently as associate executive director and initially as development director. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in liberal studies in great books from St. Anselm College and both a Master of Social Work degree and a Master of Public Administration degree from Marywood University.

Real Estate Update

Keller Williams Realty announced the following appointments in its White Plains office.

Susan E. Jones of White Plains joined the company as a sales associate.  Most recently, Jones worked in the White Plains office of Weichert Realtors. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Mercy College in English literature and the commercial arts.

Marsha Belnavis of the Bronx joined the company as a sales associate. Belnavis has more than eight years of experience in the real estate field, most recently at Prudential Rand Realty in White Plains. She holds an associate degree in accounting from Monroe College.

 

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Connecticut and Westchester County announced the following appointments in its Croton-on-Hudson office.

Kerri Blank of Cortlandt Manor joined the company as a sales associate. Most recently, Blank was a sales associate in the Croton-on-Hudson office of Houlihan Lawrence. From 1997 to 2006, she operated her own law firm in Ossining.

Helena Macintyre of Montrose joined the company as a sales associate. Macintyre has more than 15 years of experience in the real estate field, most recently at Houlihan Lawrence in Croton-on Hudson.

 

Prudential Holmes & Kennedy announced the following appointments in its Bedford office. 

Richard Giaccio of Cross River joined the company as a sales associate. Giaccio formerly worked for seven years at Silverstar Development L.L.C., Pound Ridge. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Western Connecticut State University.

Mary Palmerton of Mount Kisco joined the company as a sales associate. Palmerton has eight years of experience in the real estate field. Prior to that, she worked in textile sales at West Point Stevens, New York City. 

 

Pollena Forsman of Larchmont Manor joined the Larchmont office of Houlihan Lawrence as an associate broker. Forsman has 11 years of experience in the real estate field. Prior to that, she was a partner of J. Walter Thompson Advertising, New York City. Forsman holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Boston College.

 

Harriet Libov, a salesperson in the Armonk office of Houlihan Lawrence, received the Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designation by the Seniors Real Estate Specialist Council of the National Association of Realtors.
