The builders of the 294-unit Hudson Park apartment complex on the waterfront in Yonkers used the ribbon-cutting for the completion of the second phase of the development to announce a third phase is in the works.

Pending city approval, the developer plans next year to build another luxury apartment tower of up to 22 stories and 150 to 180 rental units, said Arthur Collins II, co-founding principal of Stamford, Conn.-based Collins Enterprises. Collins said the project, on an undeveloped quarter-acre parcel just north of Hudson Park North, will cost “close to $100 million.”

Cheers echoed throughout Sleepy Hollow Country Club Saturday, June 7, as the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Westchester held its 14th annual Humanitarian Awards Dinner. Following the performance, members of the cast and crew and other guests attended a party hosted at Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Tarrytown.

The Business Council of Westchester’s annual Hall of Fame dinner was held April 16 at Glen Island in New Rochelle. Honorees included Stacy Cohen of Co-Communications, Entergy, Red Oak Transportation, Sharon Rowe of EcoBags and Georganne Chapin of Hudson Health Plan.

A grand time at the ball

Dr. Martin Saltzman, chief of medicine at Mount Kisco’s Northern Westchester Hospital, and Frank Brosens, NWH Foundation trustee, were honored for their years of dedication and service to the hospital at its annual gala Saturday, March 8, at the new Grand Prix New York in Mount Kisco. The Grand Prix Ball – themed “40s glam” – was attended by more than 800 guests and raised some $1.6 million to benefit the hospital’s surgical services, including its new robotics program.

That's a take

The Picture House backers hosted a gala at the Hilton Rye Town this month in support of a remake of Pelham’s 1920s-era, 383-seat movie venue into a pair of state-of-the-art theaters with twin missions of entertainment and education. The theater is commonly known as the Pelham Picture House and that name will remain on its historic facade after renovations – slated to begin a year from now and to last about 10 months – are complete. The Picture House slogan says it all: Life, Art, Popcorn.

This time, instead of Ralph Gregory gathering the community to tackle a problem it was the community that convened to celebrate his retirement from United Way of Westchester and Putnam – with speeches, official proclamations, retirement gifts and praise for his 26 years of service to the two counties. The Jan. 10 reception at the Westchester Renaissance was packed with friends, family, colleagues, volunteers, government representatives and business people. United Way’s Chairman Harry Bright was master of ceremonies, as County Executive Andy Spano, Congresswoman Nita Lowey, United Way of America CEO Brian Gallagher on videotape, and others spoke of Gregory’s impact on the lives of people in Westchester and Putnam. Gregory garnered laughs when he described the transition to retirement as going from a “Who’s Who” to “Who’s he?” He will continue as president and CEO until Feb. 25, when Naomi L. Adler takes the reins.

The Association for Corporate Growth of New York (ACG-New York) in Westchester hosted an evening of networking and an update on private equity investment opportunities Dec. 6. More than 120 executives gathered at Prophecy Restaurant in downtown White Plains for fun, social and business networking and a presentation by Richard Newman, managing director of the Tarrytown-based Andlinger & Co., a private equity firm.
