News Release
News 12 Westchester and the Westchester Business Journal team up for local Business News

Local media partnership will extend residents’ access to business information.

(Yonkers, New York, October 15, 2007) – News 12 Westchester and the Westchester County Business Journal today announce a partnership in which both media outlets will share resources to provide Westchester residents with better access to business news in their communities.  Starting October 15, the “News 12 Westchester Business Journal Report” will be a section within the evening and night newscasts on News 12 Westchester.  This regular feature will include business stories and special reports from Westchester Business Journal newspaper editions.  News 12 Westchester viewers will get more local business information than ever before, sourced from a respected publication, and they will be able to get that information during their regular local newscasts.

“I’m very excited about this partnership”, said Janine Rose, News Director of News 12 Westchester.  “We’re able to take the resources of both operations and provide Westchester County residents with the latest and most comprehensive business information.  It’s taking the news that’s already as local as local news gets, and adding even more breadth and depth in the business arena with the addition of the ‘News 12 Westchester Business Journal Report’.”

The segment will appear every weeknight beginning at 5pm and will continue through the evening and night newscasts on News 12 Westchester.  The content of the report will include contributions from both the Westchester County Business Journal and News 12 Westchester.  The on-air delivery of the report will regularly be from News 12 Westchester anchors, with appearances from reporters from the Westchester County Business Journal on key stories.

“We know the local businesses, we know what’s happening and, most important, as a local business we are one of them”, said Dee Delbello, president and CEO of Westfair communications incl, which publishes the Westchester Business Journal.   “We’re a part of the business fabric of the region and have been so for many decades. Now, with our News 12 partnership, much of the business news appearing in our paper will come alive,” DelBello said.

Caryn McBride, executive editor of the Business Journal, said readers and viewers can expect thorough and dynamic coverage of the local business community.

“Business people rely on us for breaking news, investigative reports and in-depth analysis of the latest trends affecting business in Westchester and the lower Hudson Valley,” McBride said. “And everyone knows News 12 is the channel to watch for all the local community news. By working together and sharing our expertise, we are going to offer the most comprehensive coverage of local business news around.”

“It’s an exciting time,” said DelBello. “Recognition should be given to the businesses and business people who provide more than 70 percent of the jobs and revenue in the county.”
