Ritz opens Dec. 19

A new meeting and party place will open next month in White Plains and it could have Westchester County residents and businesses putting on the Ritz.

The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester will open Dec. 19 on a new street extension and at a new address, 3 Renaissance Square, in downtown White Plains.

The $600 million, 122-room luxury hotel built by developer Louis R. Cappelli of Cappelli Enterprises features two 44-story condominium towers.

“Now there’s no need to travel to Manhattan for the luxury experience and fine service, since the Ritz-Carlton, Westchester has come to White Plains,” said Barbara Thibault, Ritz-Carlton, Westchester director of catering sales in a written statement.

Banquet facilities, located on the second floor of the hotel, include a ballroom that can accommodate 350 to 500 guests and six suites bordering the floor-to-ceiling glass reception area overlooking the courtyard for smaller parties. Each suite can accommodate 30 to 120 guests.

The contemporary decor is neutral, featuring warm woods and a muted gold-toned color scheme to create a blank palette for clients to work with when planning an event.

For weddings and other special events, the hotel offers catering services and a list of referrals for vendors, including flowers, music and photography.

“Be it a wedding or bar or bat mitzvah, fundraiser, 50th birthday celebration or a 25th wedding anniversary party the setting will be inspired and unparalleled,” Thibault said.

Services include a business center with meeting facilities, executive boardroom and three breakout spaces.

Amenities include the “42” restaurant, located on the 42nd floor, a 2,500-square-foot rooftop fitness center with indoor pool and a spa with nine treatment rooms.

All guest rooms and suites have wireless Internet, 42-inch LCD flat panel televisions with DVD players and twice-daily housekeeping services.

The Ritz’s first ballroom event, a fundraiser for the March of Dimes, will be held Dec. 20. Louis R. Cappelli and Cappelli Enterprises will be honored “for their outstanding commercial real estate activities and charitable contributions in the community.”
