1. New York Medical College honored three individuals for their contributions to health care through research, leadership and service to the community at its annual Founders’ Dinner fundraiser, which was held Oct. 13 at the Glen Island Harbour Club in New Rochelle. The honorees (from left) are: Gabor Kaley, Ph.D., professor and former chairman of physiology at the college; His Eminence Cardinal Edward Egan, archbishop of New York; and William M. Mooney Jr., Westchester County Association president. Honoree Mooney is joined (from left, 1a) by: Leanne Hales-Shaw, director of development at Dominican Sisters Family Health Service; his wife, Joan Mooney; and Sister Virginia Hanrahan, president and chief executive officer, Dominican Sisters Family Health Service.

 

2. The Westchester Community Foundation Fund for Women and Girls issued its 2007 grants, each $15,000, to six local organizations, Oct. 26. Approximately $125,000 was raised at the Westchester ARC’s annual gourmet gala, “A Matter of Taste 4,” which showcased delicacies from the area’s finest restaurants, held Oct. 17, at the Westchester Country Club, Rye. 4. Adam J. Stark, (left) is congratulated by William M. Mooney Jr., president of the Westchester County Association, at the opening, in Harrison, of Stark Business Solutions’ (SBS) third site. SBS offers turnkey, flexible office solutions for professionals and small businesses on a full-time and part-time basis.

5. Richmond Community Services, a nonprofit agency, based in Mount Kisco, serving people with developmental disabilities and complex health issues, raised more than $64,000 at its recent fundraiser.
