Cynthia A. Rubino of Cortlandt Manor was appointed campus operating officer for the Westchester campus of Berkeley College, located in White Plains. Rubino was also named the college’s vice president of government relations, New York. Since 1999, Rubino was vice president for the office of government and community relations at Pace University. Prior to that, she was village administrator for Tarrytown. Rubino holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Mercy College and a Master of Public Administration degree from Pace University.

Jennifer Schell Podoll of Hartsdale was promoted to senior vice president of communications and marketing for the Eastern Division, encompassing New York and New Jersey, at the American Cancer Society, based in Manhattan and White Plains. Podoll joined the society in 2003 as vice president of marketing for the Eastern Division. Prior to that, she was the national director of communications at the National Down Syndrome Society, Manhattan. Before that, she was the senior director of communications at the United Way of Westchester and Putnam, White Plains. Podoll holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and education from Concordia College and a Master of Science degree in nonprofit management from the New School University.

Henry R. Rouda of Hartsdale was appointed vice president of legal affairs at DLC Management Corp., Tarrytown, an owner and operator of open-air shopping centers. Most recently, Rouda was director of leasing services at Foot Locker Realty, New York City. Prior to that, he was associate general counsel at Equity Properties, Chicago. Rouda holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Miami University (Ohio) and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Boston College.

Hudson Valley Bank, Yonkers, announced the following appointments.

Moira J. Kiernan of Yonkers joined the bank as vice president and branch manager of its 328 Central Ave., White Plains, branch. Kiernan has more than 15 years of experience in the banking industry, most recently as a branch manager at The Bank of New York and previously as a small-business relationship manger at The Bank of New York. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from the College of Mount Saint Vincent and a master’s degree in marketing management from Manhattan College.

Susan Sacco of Yonkers joined the bank as assistant vice president and branch manager of its 150 Lake Ave., Yonkers, branch. Sacco formerly worked at The Bank of New York for 36 years, most recently as a branch manager and previously as a sales manager. She is a graduate of the American Institute of Banking.

The American Red Cross in Westchester County, White Plains, announced the following appointments.

Dan Iradi of East Hanover, N.J., joined the chapter as response director. Since 2005, Iradi worked at the Colonial Crossroads Chapter of the American Red Cross in Summit, N.J., most recently as senior director of preparedness and response and initially as director of emergency services. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in politics and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree, both from The Catholic University of America.

Donnell Nichols of Brooklyn joined the chapter as response manager. Most recently, Nichols was senior supervisor of disaster planning and response at the American Red Cross in Greater New York, Manhattan. Prior to that, he was executive director of HSERA Inc./NWG Group, Atlanta, a company he founded in 2002. Nichols holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in interdisciplinary studies from Penn State Worldwide Campus.

Brenda Douglas of Poughkeepsie joined the chapter as training manager in the preparedness department. Since 2000, Douglas worked at ARC of Rockland County, Congers, most recently as training specialist and initially house manager of a residential alternative facility for developmentally disabled people. She holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in business administration from Western International University.

Juan R. Quinones of Spring Valley joined the chapter as marketing manager in the preparedness department. Since 2004, Quinones was a co-owner of Ronin Film Studios, Salisbury Mills. Prior to that, he was distribution and field marketing coordinator at Lifetime Entertainment Services, New York City. Quinones holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Business Administration degrees in marketing from St. Thomas Aquinas College.

Joshua Garofano of Danbury, Conn., was appointed a real estate sales agent at Atlantic Real Estate Corp., Yonkers, a real estate development and brokerage firm. Garofano is a recent graduate of Keene State College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 20th-century history.

Skip Beitzel of Mount Kisco, owner of Hickory & Tweed Ski & Cyclery, Armonk, a bicycle and ski shop, was elected president of the board of directors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Westchester, Mount Kisco, a nonprofit organization that provides programs and services for the youth. Beitzel has been on the organization’s board since 1996. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Vermont and a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Universi
