Theodore A. Mathas of Armonk was promoted to president of New York Life Insurance Co., New York City. Mathas continues as chief operating officer, a position he assumed in July 2006. Prior to that, he was an executive vice president and co-head of U.S. insurance operations. From 1998 to 2003, he was a senior vice president. From 2001 to 2003, he was also chief operating officer for life and annuity operations. From 1999 to 2001, he was chief operating officer in New York Life’s agency department. Before that, he was president of Eagle Strategies Corp., a registered investment subsidiary, and president of NYLIFE Securities Inc., a retail broker-dealer subsidiary. He joined New York Life in 1995 as a corporate vice president. Mathas holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Virginia.

Keith W. Hopkins of Yorktown Heights was appointed vice president, account management at Marketing Management Analytics Inc., Wilton, Conn., a company that uses marketing mix modeling to help companies plan, measure, validate and optimize their marketing performance. Since 2003, Hopkins was senior manager of the global CRM (customer relationship management) service line at Accenture, New York City. Prior to that, he was senior manager of the CRM service line at Bearing Point, New York City. Before that, he was senior manager of the CRM service line at Arthur Andersen Business Consulting, New York City. Hopkins holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the State University of New York at Albany and a Master of Science degree in telecommunications from Iona College.

Mary Ann Alonso of Port Chester was appointed vice president and trust officer at Hudson Valley Bank, Yonkers. Since 1996, Alonso was vice president and senior trust officer at Fiduciary Trust Company International, New York City. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from The College of New Rochelle.

Melanie Duerr of Beacon was appointed vice president for certified services at the Visiting Nurse Association of Hudson Valley, Tarrytown, a home health-care agency. Most recently, Duerr was the administrator at Optimal Home Health, Bakersfield, Calif. Prior to that, she was the founder and managing partner of Home Partners L.L.C., a clinical consulting firm. Duerr holds a Bachelor of Science degree from LeMoyne College and a Master of Science degree in the nurse practitioner program from the University of Rochester.

Kay Lenard was appointed client service associate and volunteer management assistant at the American Red Cross in Westchester County, White Plains. Most recently, Lenard was a case manager at the American Red Cross in Washington, D.C. Prior to that, she was director of emergency services at the American Red Cross’ north central Florida chapter in Gainesville. Lenard holds a Master of Science degree in human services from Lincoln University.

William V. Cuddy Jr. of White Plains, executive vice president in the Stamford, Conn., office of CB Richard Ellis, a commercial real estate services company, was elected president of the board of directors of The Burke Rehabilitation Hospital, White Plains. Cuddy has served on Burke’s board since 1999, previously as secretary. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Notre Dame.
