Jumpjet takes to the skies

Jumpjet, the private jet service looking to provide aircraft partial ownership to its clients, officially began running June 5 with an inaugural flight from Dallas to Hot Springs, Va. A total of 45 people flew to various destinations across the county using Jumpjet’s services.

The Sante Fe, N.M.-based company, which was originally scheduled to launch on May 29, operates out of Westchester County Airport and will fly out of 12 airports across the nation to more than 5,000 jet-capable private aviation facilities.

The June 5 start date reflects the minimum five days for advance reservations required for a flight, plus an extra day that Jumpjet built in to accommodate the Memorial Day weekend.

To date, Jumpjet claims to have signed up more than 700 individual members, as well as 50 companies for its corporate program.
