Center, Tarrytown. The conference, designed for
regional businesses and community leaders addressed
topics of relevance to future workforces. The half-day
conference drew more than 200 attendees to its program
of six interactive roundtables with expert panelists
in addition to Rosen’s address.
2. The Westchester County Association’s
(WCA) Annual Spring Leadership dinner drew a capacity
gathering of guests at the Glen Island Harbour Club
in New Rochelle May 2. Pictured at the event (from

4. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS)
honored Andrew Fredman of Larchmont at its black-tie
gala “Path to the Cure” April 21, at the Hilton
Rye Town in Rye Brook. More than $200,000 was raised

5. Juan Dalto Carlos (left) president of

$10,000 to Larry Levine, president and chief executive

a series of two lectures on children’s nutrition
to be held at the hospital.
6. Pictured speaking at the Legal Services
of the Hudson Valley’s (LSHV) 40th anniversary and
second annual Access to Justice Dinner is retired
Justice Sondra M. Miller who was the event’s awardee.
More than 400 guests attended April 11 at the Hilton
Rye Town in Rye Brook. LSHV provides free civil
legal services to poor and low-income individuals
and families in Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Ulster,
orange, Rockland and Sullivan counties.
7. John C. Federspiel, president of Hudson
Valley Hospital Center (HVHC), Cortlandt Manor,
received a special award, at the hospital’s annual
employee dinner, from all the employees for his
20 years of service. The award was presented to
him by his administrative assistant Sue Lepore,
a 25-year employee at the hospital, who also received
recognition. For her 40 years of service in the
hospital’s food and nutrition department, Joan DeFlavis
(inset) of Peekskill received an award.
