Cross
County Center at a crossroads

A
Long Island developer and retail visionary, Sol G. Atlas
built the Cross County Center in Yonkers in the postwar
baby boom and first growth spurt of suburbia. Fifty-three
years later, its managing company, California-based Macerich,
plans to spend more than $100 million in what a company
official called “a dramatic transformation” of the 1 million-square-foot
shopping center to renew its faded appearance and refine
its merchandise mix for shoppers and retailers.

Developer
to allot more open space at Hudson Park project

Looking
to compensate for an increase in building height for the
second phase of the Hudson Park development on the Yonkers
waterfront, Scenic Hudson has reached an agreement with
developer Collins Enterprises L.L.C. and the city for
more open space at the site, said Ned Sullivan, president
of Scenic Hudson.

(Second part of
a three-part series)
Ten
businesses located in the Hudson Valley are to be honored
at the Averell Harriman International Trade Awards event,
May 22, at Abigail Kirsch’s Tappan Hill Mansion in Tarrytown.
Each year a business organization in one of the participating
Hudson Valley counties hosts the event. This year’s host
is the Westchester County Association.
