Jose R. Montiel is no stranger to creativity.

When it came to founding his company, Proftech L.L.C., Montiel chose to take a creative approach.

As a student at Clarkson University and an aspiring entrepreneur, Montiel wrote a term paper on recession-proof businesses. Using his paper and his interest in visiting supply stores, Montiel realized the office-supply industry was one with longevity.
